Leslie Knope
When I grow up, I want to be Leslie Knope. I want to match her level of enthusiasm and stick-to-it-iveness in all of my efforts to make good for people. I want to change the world, one small town hall meeting at a time, doing nothing by halves and smiling all the while. I'll charm the Ron Swansons and love the Ben Wyatts and beautiful Ann Perkinses and small town government life will be an amazing challenge to surmount.

A Green Thumb
When I grow up, I want to have a green thumb. I will grow herbs and flowers, nurture shrubbery and coax vines to crawl with purpose up trellises. There will be no fear that I might kill them all in one fell swoop. I'll make salads out of my vegetable garden; I'll water and feed and sing them to be the best they can be. And the garden will be green and lovely, with a little nook for reading and catching up or sharing M&Ms.

A Novelist
When I grow up, I want to be a novelist. I will spend quiet days tied to my computer, perfecting paragraph after paragraph of perfect prose. My editor will love it and my agent will be glad to have scored a copy first. After topping best-seller lists and becoming popular on Audible, the novel will inevitably be optioined for a film. I will adapt the screenplay myself, of course.

A Housewife
When I grow up, I want to be a housewife. The run of the mill, does all the dishes in her pearls and red lipstick and has dinner on the table by 5 assortment. I'll be involved in city politics and throwing fundraisers and dragging the kids to the park in Lululemon head to toe, all while the hubs is off earning us a living. Hey, it's hard work keeping dinner warm, but someone's got to do it.

A Beach House
When I grow up, I want to have a house on the beach. Not to live in all the time (I'm way too afraid of hurricanes for that), but to escape to calm ocean waves and my own little private piece of sand whenever I want to. It will be my own zen place where nothing can get me too razzed, except running out of watermelon and SPF66.

A Kindergarten Teacher
Maybe it's the amount of How I Met Your Mother that I've watched in teh past six months (All of it.). Maybe it's the number of really amazing itty bitty people I have had the privilege to know and love. However, I can't think of a place I'd rather be than cross-legged on a mat leading storytime or songs or heading up a room of finger painting. I could help foster reading skills and potty skills and teach tiny children what it means to be special, start a fire for a lifelong love of learning. Also, you probably don't know this about me, but I have mad macaroni necklace making skills. Just saying.
